Lil Jon - born Jonathan Smith in 1970 in Atlanta, Georgia - is an African-American hip hop music artist and rap album producer. He is best known as the king of the hip hop style known as "crunk", a combination of elements of Southern hip hop and bass music. His group, Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz, is one of crunk's most notable acts.
